Drywall Finisher & Painter

If you can hang and finish drywall and lay down clean paint, you already know how this trade usually goes. The work dries up the second the weather turns or a job wraps. Rained-out weeks, seasonal layoffs, and hours you can never count on. At Framework First, finishing happens inside a climate-controlled factory in Salinas, so the work does not stop when it rains and the paycheck keeps coming all year.

We are a family-owned company that builds homes and ADUs about 97% inside our own Salinas factory, then crane-delivers and sets them on-site. This is a real operation with a full factory floor and an office, backed by a craftsman trainer with 40+ years of building experience. Because you cover both drywall and paint, you are worth more to us than a single-craft hire, and the pay range reflects it. There is room to grow here, and the people who work hard move up.

• ·Hang, tape, mud, sand, and texture drywall to a clean, ready-to-paint finish.
• ·Prep, prime, and lay down paint by spray, roller, and brush, with sharp cut-in lines and no runs or misses.
• ·Patch and touch up drywall and paint after a home is set on-site so it looks move-in ready.
• ·Move between both crafts as the build needs, mostly inside our climate-controlled factory.
• ·Keep your area clean, your materials stocked, and your finish consistent from one unit to the next.

• ·Real hands-on experience in BOTH drywall and paint. This is one role for one person who does both, not a single-craft painter or a single-craft drywaller. Not entry-level.
• ·Able to read a plan set and finish schedule and build to them without hand-holding.
• ·You own your work. When your name is on a wall, it is straight, smooth, and sellable, and if a detail is off you fix it before anyone has to ask.
• ·Punctual, reliable, and comfortable working in English on a team.
• ·Trade school or training is a plus, not a requirement.

• ·Location: Salinas, CA. Most of your week is inside our climate-controlled factory, with occasional on-site touch-ups after a home is set.
• ·Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (40 hrs/week). Steady hours year-round and a paycheck you can count on.
• ·Pay: $35–$45/hour to start (DOE), about $72,800–$93,600/yr at 40-hour weeks, before overtime. Time-and-a-half when we push to finish a build.
• ·Tools and workstations provided. You bring the skill, we supply the rest.
• ·Benefits: 401(k), paid vacation, holiday, and sick leave, and an employee discount. Starting October 1, 2026, we are also adding health, dental, and vision coverage.
