Construction Permit Coordinator

Planning Department | In-Person

Framework First builds homes inside our own factory, then crane delivers them onto our clients’ properties. Permits, foundation, finishes, and inspections are all handled for the client. We have been building quality homes and ADUs for years, with 40-plus years of craftsmanship behind us and a 5.0 star reputation, and we are growing fast.

Permits are the single biggest thing that can speed up or slow down a build. We need a Permit Coordinator who owns that process across Monterey County and the 15-plus jurisdictions we work in, and who treats every stalled application like a problem to solve today, not next week.

There is also room to grow into more of the planning department over time, from site visits to occasional travel when a project calls for it.

What you’ll actually do
– Prepare and submit complete permit packages to city and county planning and building departments.
– Track every permit from feasibility to final approval, and always know the status of each one.
– Research zoning, setbacks, and ADU rules jurisdiction by jurisdiction so feasibility studies are right the first time.
– Build relationships with planners, building officials, and inspectors across the region.
– Turn plan check corrections around fast so a small comment never costs us weeks.
– Coordinate daily with operations, planning, and clients to keep projects on schedule.

Who we are looking for
– California permitting or entitlement experience (construction, ADU, modular, architecture, or planning).
– Extremely organized, persistent, and comfortable at a building department counter.
– Fluent in planning portals and permit software, and you never let an application sit.

Pay
– $25 per hour to start, 40 hours a week (about $52,000 a year).
– Steady full-time work with 401(k), paid time off, and raises as you grow into the role.

To apply
Submit your resume and tell us about the trickiest approval you ever got across the finish line.
If it looks like a fit, we will email you a link to record a short first-interview video on your own time, right from your phone. No scheduling, no day off work to interview.
